Test Drive in an Automatic Porsche 924S
1987 Porsche 924S quick walk around and test drive. The 3-Speed automatic transmission in these cars were made by Audi. They have NO overdrive but are relatively reliable. In terms of freeway performance, it is incredibly poor, resulting in very high engine RPMs, high engine temperatures, and horrible gas mileage (this can all be avoided if you travel exactly 60mph and below). The 3-Speed was an option, so it is kind of rare to have, especially on a 924S because they were only made for two years in the US. I am currently in the process of swapping it out for a 5-Speed manual, which will be documented here in the next couple of months. I already have most the parts, and the process is almost equivalent to a regular clutch job. PS Very sorry about the microphone quality. It doesn’t filter low frequencies very well at ALL. I may make another video showing all the things I have repaired on the car so far.. oh I also got the whole car for 0
